I think Cullen Jones should have been on the cover too. :)
yea...me too! The really underestimated his talent and success in this year's Olympics.
They asked him if it was the "suit" that was causing so many swimmers to break world records and he replied, "The suit doesn't get up at 5:30am..."
I do think that part of the extra swimming records are attributable to Speedo's LZR Racer. As long as the suit doesn't add buoyancy to the swimmers, it should be legal.
However I don't think its fair to say that the suit doesn't give a significant performance advantage when its been shown that it reduces a competitive racers time anywhere from 1.9-2.2%. During one stretch this yr, 28 of the 29 new swimming records were set by wearers of the LZR Racer.
I think with the dawn of this suit, whatever governing body for the sport of swimming should require all athletes to use a single brand/model of suit (similar to how Formula 1 racing now only has a single Tire supplier.)
